Spanish Urban Forum

The Spanish Urban Forum (FUE) is one of the actions reserved to the Central Administration by the Action Plan of the Spanish Urban Agenda and it is proposed as a periodic and institutional meeting platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences around urban issues.

The first edition of the Spanish Urban Forum (FUE) took place in October 2021 in Seville under the motto "The role of cities in the social and economic recovery" and there were shared experiences, dialogues and reflections about " Ecological transition and City Model”, “Territory, city and health”, “Equity and social cohesion in urban areas: the role of housing” and “Digital transformation and innovation”.

In this first edition, all types of actors participated: representatives of Governments and Public Administrations (central, regional and local), the private sector, professional organizations, academia and civil society, both at the national level as international. Its coincidence in time and space, moreover, with the III Global Forum of Local Governments in Seville, provided synergies mainly coming from the closest Administration to the citizenship, which was of great interest.

The second edition of this forum will be held on October, the 16th and 17th, 2023 under the motto “Urban Agenda in Action”. Its objective will be to articulate, during two intense days, debates around the different implementation experiences, at all levels of the Spanish Urban Agenda and about the opportunity that Local Action Plans represent for the future of towns and cities.
