Extremadura
Extremadura presents its Urban Agenda within the framework of its Law for Sustainable Territorial and Urban Planning of Extremadura (LOTUS). In fact, it is considered that the law itself is its own Urban Agenda with the particularity that it goes from being a strategic to a normative document.
Its objective is to promote sustainable urban development and integrated planning of resources, relying on both citizen participation and collaboration between the different levels of government and other agents involved in the urban sector, which are essential. The Law includes a range of measures that must be considered in the Urban and Territorial Planning in which the principles of sustainability established by the international Agendas are included. The alignment that is made between the articles of the Law with the Spanish Urban Agenda stands out.
